AGENT – PUBLISHER RESEARCH

Wondering how to find the right market for your work?
Are you looking for an agent?
Persistence is publishing’s first principle!

Congratulations! You’ve completed half of your task—writing that book or article. Now, are you ready for the other (and often most grueling) half—finding your publishing niche?

Most writers will not find an agent or a publisher within a few days or even a few months. The key to landing that coveted place is persistence and continual submission.

We can help you by researching the field for those agents and publishers who may be most open to your work. Among other resources, we have access to a database of over 5,600 continuously updated publishers and agents, as well as personal contacts in the industry.

You will receive a detailed list of appropriate agents and publishers for your manuscript, showing their names, addresses, phone numbers, approach preferred (i.e., email, fax, etc.), what to send (query letter, full proposal, etc.), and other pertinent information.

But landing an agent can be complex. When you do have an interested agent or publisher, we can help you investigate the person. Once you are offered an agreement, we can assist you with information about reputable contract evaluation services.

If you decide to choose self-publishing, we can assist your search for reputable Internet-based publishing houses and walk you through the process. As the author, you will be in control of every step. (See our page on Self-Publishing Support for details.)
